SANTA SLEIGH 2008
Evesham Round Table are once again amazed by the generosity of the people of Evesham and its surrounding villages for the great response to Santa's collection last month. A grand total in excess of £4,300 was received over 13 nights of collecting in December.
Round Table Chairman Glen Lyon advised ' I had been concerned about the effects of the recession and wondered if it would have had an impact on our main fund raising exercise of the year. I needn't have worried and this fantastic sum will allow us to support many worthy causes in the coming year. As the Vale grows in size the collection becomes an ever increasing task for Round Table. It would not have been possible without the help from our friends in 41 Club and Ladies Circle. A special thanks must also go to Listers who provided a car to pull the Sleigh when Rudolf became tired.
Santa was also thrilled with the whole experience. Santa beamed, 'The joy on the faces of the children (of all ages) makes my job so much fun. Now, along with the reindeer, we need to get some rest to ensure we can do it all again in 2009. There is only 48 weeks to go you know!'
Round Table is organisation for men aged up to 45. Its part of a worldwide organisation whose aim is to have fun while raising funds for good causes. Further information about what Tablers get up to, along with details on how to join, can be viewed on www.Evesham295.com
